He attended Rhema Word Outreach Center where he served as an usher, van driver and worked security for the church. Roy had a special gift of music and learned to play the guitar and piano at an early age and would play with his family at the church his father Pastored. On March 15, 2008, he was united in marriage to the former Sonja R. He loved family vacations at his grandmother's home in Virginia, and so many cherished memories from his childhood. Roy was a very kind & gentle person, and was loved by all who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Myrtle Moore his beloved wife of 28 years, LaNelle his special aunt, Mildred Parks his sister, Cheryl (KC) Jones niece, Tricia (Bob) Kidder nephews, Jerimiah and Nathan (Sarah) Jones step-son, Ron (Lynda) Thurman step-daughter, Jennifer (Junior) Gipson a special friend, Shanley Collette and 6 grandchildren. Roy was preceded in death by his father, Roy Moore in 1989. Roy was also known as "R.D." or "Dee" by his family and was a wonderful son, the "best" brother, uncle, husband, step-dad, and "Poppa" to his family. Roy owned his own business for years, "Moore's Fine Painting", and was known by his excellent painting skills. He was born in Battle Creek on June 25, 1952, the son of Roy and Myrtle (Parks) Moore.
